“A True Friend is hard to find, difficult to leave and impossible to forget” and we all share that special bond with a few chosen ones in our lifetime. Friendship is beautiful relationship and having friends around is a joy forever. Along our life we come across friends that impact our life and always add some value to our being.
True friendship is not built in a day, and it takes very many years of interaction, communication and trust to call someone a friend. It is this solid foundation that leads to interactions which is not merely restricted to a conversation, but indeed an insight into your heart and soul. The friends that have proven themselves to you over the years are the ones that should be cherished.
Few friendships are cherished forever and last longer like your childhood friends and college friends. The first and the most innocent friends that we make are during our childhood and because of this, they are the most strongest. Childhood friends’ therefore are also the dearest to us all. The second most important friendship that we have is usually with our college friends. They are the ones that usually know all our secrets and stay with us during thick and thin. They add quality and sense of maturity, since they stay with us during our growing up days.
While we are talking about friendship, it is essential to understand that the true essence of this beautiful relationship is based on love and respect for your friend. It is therefore important not only to expect it, but also live up to the expectation of your dear friend.
A lot of times in our life we come across friends who try to take advantage and who basically hearth ill-will towards us. Such people add negativity to our well being and therefore shouldn’t be encouraged as friends. A true friend would understand your thoughts and always be patient with you and as it is said “The essence of true friendship is to make allowance for another’s little lapses”
Moving through the phases of time, some friendship may not survive or last long, it is important here to induce the magic potion of staying in touch and keeping abreast of things in each other’s life. Sometimes if you are not able to keep in touch regularly, look for alternate options like sending a card, a birthday wish or just flowers. It would make your friend feel special; this would keep your friendship going strong each day.
Friendship is all about maintaining trust, respect and love without compromising on your own self-respect and if you have found all these in someone, you are quite lucky! And let’s end this with
A good friend is a connection to life — a tie to the past, a road to the future, the key to sanity in a totally insane world. ~Lois Wysen
