Birthday Cake Recipes

Butterscotch Cake recipe

Ingredients -
For cake -
  • Eggs - 2
  • Sifted cake flour - 2.5 cups
  • Baking powder - 2tbsp
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Brown sugar - 1.5 cups
  • Milk - 1.5 cups
  • Sugar - 1 cup
  • sunflower oil - 1 cup
  • vanilla extract - 2 tbsp
For frosting -
  • Powdered gelatin - 2tbsp
  • Brown sugar - 2 tbsp
  • Whole milk - half cup
  • Water - 1 cup
  • Butter - 1 cup
  • Vanilla extract - 2 tbsp.
For sauce -
  • Butter - 4 tbsp
  • Brown sugar - 1 cup
  • Lemon juice - 1tbsp
  • Cream - 1 cup
  • Vanilla extract - 2 tbsp

Directions -

For cake -
  • Separate the eggs and yolk in a small bowl and let it stand for at least 20 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and line the pans with parchment paper.
  • Use sifted flour, salt, and baking powder in a large bowl. Add brown sugar and stir. Set the mixture aside.
  • Whip the egg whites into the cake batter. Divide the batter into the pans and bake it for 25 to 30 minutes. You can prick a toothpick inside in the
  • center of the cake to get sure that it is well baked.
  • If the toothpick comes out clean, remove the cake from the tin and let it cool.
For frosting -
  • Place 4 tbsp water in a bowl and sprinkle gelatin powder over it. When it gets mixed properly let it bloom for 5 minutes.
  • Place brown sugar and half cup water in a medium saucepan.
  • Cook over medium-low heat and stir occasionally.
  • Turn heat to extremely low and add bloomed gelatin to it.
  • Cook for another 3 minutes and remove it from heat.
  • Let it cool to room temperature.
  • Take butter in a bowl and whip it until it turns fluffy. Add the gelatin mixture to it and whip them together.
  • At first, it would appear like a curdled mess but after whipping for some time it will become buttercream.
  • Once it becomes buttercream after whipping it for nearly 10 or 15 minutes mix in the vanilla.
For sauce -
  • Take butter in a medium saucepan and add brown sugar, lemon juice, and a little salt. Stir until the sugar is melted.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and add heavy cream to it. Whisk them together until they appear one.
  • Now, again return to low heat and add vanilla. After some time turn the gas off and let it cool at room temperature. Do not worry, the sauce will
  • get thick as it cools.
  • Fill the cooled cakes, and drizzle the butterscotch sauce between the layers. Decorate it properly on top of the frosting and also on top of the cake.

Heavenly White Cake

Ingredients -
  • Sifted cake flour - 2.5 cups
  • Butter - 1 cup
  • Baking powder - 4 tbsp
  • Milk - 1 cup
  • Eggs - 4
  • Powdered sugar - 2 cups
  • Vanilla extract - 1 tbsp
  • Baking soda - 1 tbsp
  • Salt - 1 tbsp
  • Cream and cherries for decoration.
Steps to follow -
  • Take a bowl and mix cake flour, baking powder, baking soda, milk, and salt.
  • Take another bowl and mix sugar and egg gradually till fluff arises.
  • Mix the ingredients of both the bowls and whisk them further.
  • Add butter to the batter and beat the batter until smooth.
  • Now, take the baking pan and line its bottom with parchment paper.
  • Pour the batter in the tin and bake the cake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
  • Now, cool the cake and transfer into a plate.
  • Decorate by spreading cream over it.

Easy Chocolate Cake

Ingredients -
  • All-purpose flour - 4 cups
  • Milk - 1 cup
  • Powdered sugar - 1 cup
  • Dark brown sugar - 1 cup
  • Cocoa - 1/2 cup
  • Butter - 1 cup
  • Eggs - 3
  • Baking soda - 1 tbsp
  • Chocolate for decoration
Steps to follow -
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and coat the baking tin with melted butter.
  • Now, take a large bowl and combine flour and cocoa powder together.
  • Mix them well and then add butter and baking soda to the mixture.
  • In a different bowl mix eggs, powdered sugar, dark brown sugar and milk.
  • Now mix all the ingredients all together and make a thick batter.
  • Transfer the batter in the baking tin and bake for at least 30 mins.
  • Take the cake out once it cools.
  • For frosting use molten chocolate.
  • You can also use chocolate wafers and cheese- cream.

Strawberry Cake Recipe

Ingredients -
  • Strawberries - 2 bowls
  • Sifted cake flour - 4 cups
  • Baking powder - 2 tbsp
  • Baking soda - 1 tbsp
  • Salt - 1 tbsp
  • Granulated sugar - 2 cups
  • Eggs - 4
  • Butter - 1 cup
  • Vanilla essence - 2 tbsp
For frosting -
  • Cheese
  • Strawberries
  • Butter
  • Sugar
  • Cream
  • Milk

Note: For the frosting you can decide the quantity of ingredients as per your taste.

Steps to follow -
  • Take the strawberries and reduce them over the gas.
  • Once they get cooled make a thick puree.
  • Whisk the cake flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together.
  • Preheat the oven at 177-degree Celsius.
  • In a separate bowl mix the eggs, sugar, and milk altogether.
  • Once you see the fluff arising in the bowl containing egg transfer the batter into larger bowl.
  • Add strawberry puree and try to make the batter really smooth.
  • Mix all the ingredients together and whisk further.
  • Set the batter into the baking tin and bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
  • Leave the cake for cooling and start preparing the frosting.
  • Take the reduced strawberries, milk, cream, butter, sugar in the mixture and make a thick frosting.
  • Use a flat knife and spread the frosting over the cake as you want to.
  • You can keep the cake in the refrigerator for letting the frosting settle well on the cake.

Princess Castle Cake

Ingredients:
  • Cake flour mixture for 1-½ cakes
  • Two 9" square cake pans
  • One 8" round cake pan
  • Ice cream cones
  • Icing, white/pastel (for 2 cakes)
  • Decorator icing
  • Candies, sparkling sugar and sprinkles
Method:
  • You can bake two square shaped cake layers and one round shaped cake layer in an oven and after some time remove the layers from the pan and allow them to cool.
  • Start frosting the top of one of the square cake and now position the second square layer on top and start icing the cake from the top and along the sides.
  • Trim the round shaped cake so that it attains a size of 7". Now place this cake on top of the ice-covered square cake and frost the cake from the top and along the sides to form a layout of your castle.
  • Take four ice cream cones and frost them from exterior to place them on the corners of the cake as towers.
  • To decorate your castle use candies, sparkling sugar and sprinkles.

Chocolate Cake Recipe:

Ingredients -
  • 1/4 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1-1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tbsp Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/3 cup Oil
  • 1 cup Water
Method:
  • Mix together all the dry ingredients in a bowl.
  • Mix liquid ingredients in a separate bowl and combine it with dry ingredients.
  • Stir the mixture with a wire whisk until mixed well.
  • Grease an eight-inch baking pan.
  • Pour the prepared mixture into the pan.
  • Bake for about 45 minutes at 350 degree F.
  • Top with ice cream and serve.

Vanilla Cake Recipe:

Ingredients -
  • 1 Cup sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • Vanilla extract
  • 1-1/2 Cup cake flour
  • 2-1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp White vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/3 Cup oil
  • 1/3 Cup milk
Method:
  • Mix the cake flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl.
  • Then, mix the egg yolk, 1/2 cup sugar, Vanilla extract and milk in other bowl.
  • Add oil to the mixture of egg yolk, sugar, Vanilla extract and milk and mix well.
  • Mix the mixtures of both bowls.
  • Mix the egg white, remaining sugar and vinegar separately till it becomes fluffy.
  • Add the mixture to the previous one and mix them well.
  • Preheat the oven at 375 degrees.
  • Bake the mixture for 25 minutes in preheated oven.
  • Vanilla Cake is ready.

Apple Cake Recipe:

Ingredients -
  • 2 cups diced apples (or pears or combo)
  • 1/2 cup raw sugar
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • ¾ tsp. baking soda
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1-1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup applesauce
  • 1tsp. vanilla
Method:
  • Preheat oven to 375.
  • Grease a 9" or 10" round pan with a non-stick cooking spray if needed.
  • Sprinkle diced apples with the sugar, set aside.
  • In a small bowl, mix flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  • In another bowl, beat the egg. Mix in the apple sauce and vanilla. Stir the flour mixture into the egg mixture, until well mixed. Add apples.
  • Bake the mixture in a preheated oven for about 50-70 minutes.
  • Let the cake cool. Invert the pan over a plate.
  • Apple Cake is ready to serve.
