Cupcake Ideas

Easy Vanilla Butterfly Cupcakes

  • Butter 1 cup
  • Sugar 2 cups
  • Eggs 2
  • Flour 2 cups
  • Milk half cup
  • Vanilla extract 1 tbsp
For decoration
  • Icing sugar 1 cup
  • Sprinklers like stars or berries
Steps to follow
  • Heat the oven to 180C. Take two muffin tins and grease them.
  • Take a bowl and mix the flour and eggs.
  • Whisk thoroughly and mix sugar into the mixture.
  • Add milk and vanilla essence to the mixture.
  • Now, add butter and keep whisking.
  • Once a smooth paste is obtained, pour it into the tins.
  • Bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Insert a toothpick to check whether the mixture is baked or not.
  • If it is thoroughly cooked then remove the cupcakes from the tins.
  • Mix the icing sugar with a little amount of water in order to make a thick paste.
  • Drizzle it over the cakes once they are cooled.
  • Sprinkle your toppings like stars and berries while the icing is wet.
  • Leave them to set for some time before serving.

Applesauce Cupcakes

You Need:
  • All-purpose flour: 300 gm
  • Baking powder: 2 teaspoon
  • Salt: teaspoon
  • Cinnamon: teaspoon
  • Butter : 230 gm
  • Sugar: 150 gm
  • Eggs: 3
  • Applesauce: cup
  • Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Apple juice: cup
  • Red Food color: teaspoon

Vanilla Butter Cream Frosting

You need:
  • Castor sugar: 6 cups
  • Softened Butter: 2/3 cups
  • Vanilla extract: 1 tablespoon
  • Milk: 3 tablespoon
  • In a large vessel, mix together castor sugar and butter on low speed using a hand mixer. Add vanilla extract and 2 tablespoons of the milk.
  • Gradually beat the mixture to a smooth, spreadable frosting.
  • Add a little milk if frosting seems thick.
  • For a sturdy frosting add more castor sugar to adjust the consistency.
For Decorations
You Need:
  • Pretzel sticks: 12
  • Leaf gumdrop candies:16
  • Gummy worm candies:12
  • Preheat oven to 177 degree Celsius or 350 degree Fahrenheit. Line a 24 muffin cup baking tray with muffin paper cups. Grease the muffin cups and dust lightly with flour.
  • In a large bowl, sieve together; flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon powder.
  • In another bowl, beat the butter on low speed for about 30 seconds. Now, add cup sugar and beat again for 30 seconds. Repeat this step till you have added all the sugar.
  • Add eggs, and beat again for a few seconds on medium. Stir in applesauce, apple juice and vanilla; again beat for 20 seconds on low speed.
  • Fill 2/3 of each muffin cup with batter.
  • Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown crust appears at top.
  • Set aside to cool on a wire rack.
  • Add a little red food color in Butter cream frosting.
  • Frost the cupcakes. Decorate the cupcake with a broken pretzel as stem.
  • Place gumdrop leaf on either side of pretzel stem and poke in a gummy worm.
  • Yummy applesauce cupcakes are ready to delight everyone.
Vanilla Butter Cream Frosting

Rainbow Cupcakes

You Need:
  • All-purpose flour: 1 cups
  • Baking powder: 1 teaspoons
  • butter, softened: cup
  • granulated sugar: 1 cup
  • Eggs: 2
  • Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Coconut extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Coconut milk :3/4 cup
  • Food color paste: Yellow, green, red and blue
  • Unsalted butter: 1 cups
  • Castor sugar: 6 cups
  • Salt: a pinch
  • Milk: 5 tablespoons
  • Vanilla extract: teaspoon
  • Coconut extract: teaspoon
  • Jelly beans: multicolored
  • Preheat oven to 177 degree Celsius or 350 degree Fahrenheit. Line a 12 muffin cup baking tray with muffin paper cups. Grease the muffin cups and dust lightly with flour.
  • In a bowl, sieve together flour and baking powder and set aside. In another bowl, on medium speed beat cup butter and granulated sugar together until soft peaks form. Add eggs and beat again until fully dissolved. Stir in vanilla and coconut extract and start adding the flour mixture, at a time, alternating with coconut milk beating until well blended.
  • Divide this batter into 5 small bowls. Stain each batter with a pinch of food color paste. You get yellow, green, red, blue colors. For purple color mix half a pinch of blue food color with a pinch of red.
  • Fill each muffin tray with 5 layers of color batter from each bowl.
  • Bake for 20 minutes or until the cakes are golden brown.
  • Set aside to cool on a wire rack.
  • In a large bowl, beat 1 cups butter, castor sugar and salt on medium speed. Stir in 4 tablespoons of milk, vanilla extract and coconut extract. Beat until light and fluffy.
  • Frost each cake and decorate with multicolored jelly beans.

Sunny Summer Cupcakes

You need:
  • Pineapple cupcakes: 12
Frosting and decorations:
  • Yellow food color paste
  • Ready-to-spread frosting: 1 can (pineapple flavor)
  • Granulated Sugar
  • Yellow, orange and red gumdrops: 48 large
  • Black icing: 1 tube
  • Red decorating gel: 1 tube

1. Place the pineapple cupcakes in a tray.
2. Add 15 drops of food color into frosting until bright yellow and frost the cupcakes.
3. Make sun rays with the help of red gumdrops cut into strips.
4. Pipe sunglasses onto each cupcake using black icing tube and form a smiling mouth onto each cupcake using red icing tube. Sprinkle granulated sugar on top of the cupcakes.
