International Women's Day 2012

International Women's Day is celebrated every year all over the world on March 8. International Women's Day 2012 would also be celebrated on the same day. There are loads of events that take place all over the globe to mark this special day. For the entire month of March, there are varied events that are carried on to realize the economic, political and social achievements of women in entirety. It is also the best time for the world to recognize their efforts and give them a separate boost to excel more.

Themes of International Women's Day :
here are varied organizations, governments and groups of women all across the globe who selects different themes for International Women's Day, all reflecting clearly global and local gender issues. As March 8th is the day to commemorate Women’s rights and peace, the different themes chosen by different bodies should be ideally honored and looked up to.

International Women’s Day date (8 March) is also respected at the United Nations and observed as a holiday in many countries. There are segregations in terms of linguistic, cultural, ethnic, financial and political approach and women receive acclamations for the same in respective fields. The women fraternity has been fighting for social equality, social justice, peace and development and the struggle is still on.

In the preliminary stage, Women’s Day started with a political fervor (primarily in Russia and former Soviet bloc countries). But with time, the political touch of Women’s Day was lost and it attained a more lucid and loving touch.

It slowly became a day for the men to express their heartfelt love to the women fraternity as done on Mother's Day and St Valentine's Day.
