Wedding is the occasion which binds together two individuals in an everlasting relation. Wedding not only binds together two different individuals but also their families. So, planning a wedding is very important. First thing that comes to our mind while planning a wedding is flowers. Can a wedding be imagined without flowers? Of course not!




Flowers are used in weddings both for rituals and for decorative purposes. Flowers have become an integral part in every wedding around the world. Using flowers in weddings makes the environment even more joyous and refreshing. As flowers are the signs of life, fertility and joy, people don’t hesitate to shell out more on flowers. The different types of flowers which are used in weddings are natural, artificial and dried flowers.

Flowers are used in wedding bouquets, which is a custom in some western countries. The bride carries the bouquet with her to the church. She generally carries a bouquet which goes with her dress. After the wedding, the bride throws the bouquet to the unmarried women who gather outside the church for the bouquet. There is a ritual saying that anyone catching the bouquet is one to get married next. So there is a tough fight among the women folk for the bouquet. Believe me it is! Moreover although flowers are used for decorating church, yet the bouquet held by the bride holds its own importance and draws people’s attention. So, bouquets are made by florists who take great pleasure in preparing them. Nowadays bouquets are available in different designs with flowers like roses, lilies, calallies, sweetpea., white lilies and sunflowers.

Besides customs, flowers are used for some non ritual reasons too, because they are considered as a gesture of love. Irrespective of age every face blooms with joy on seeing flowers. The uses of flowers in weddings are:
