Valentine and Love
Love Poems

Pablo Neruda Love Poems are a pleasure to read for one and all. Ricardo Eliecer Neftalí Reyes Basoalto is popularly known by his nick name Pablo Neruda. The winner of Nobel Prize in Literature in 1971, this laureate is the most read poet after William Shakespeare. Born on July 12, 1904 in Chile, this poet was also a famous political activist. He had written plethora of poems that range from quite amorous poems to epic poetries with historical background and politically enriched manisfestos. Pablo Neruda Poems just add another feather to his already acclaimed versatile personality.

Here are some of the Pablo Neruda Poems for you to read and enjoy:

I Do Not Love You Except Because I Love You

I do not love you except because I love you;
I go from loving to not loving you,
From waiting to not waiting for you
My heart moves from cold to fire

I love you only because it's you the one I love;
I hate you deeply, and hating you
Bend to you, and the measure of my changing love for you
Is that I do not see you but love you blindly

Maybe January light will consume
My heart with its cruel
Ray, stealing my key to true calm

In this part of the story I am the one who
Dies, the only one, and I will die of love because I love you,
Because I love you, Love, in fire and blood.

Love

What's wrong with you, with us,
what's happening to us?
Ah our love is a harsh cord
that binds us wounding us
and if we want
to leave our wound
to separate,
it makes a new knot for us and condemns us
to drain our blood and burn together.

What's wrong with you? I look at you
and I find nothing in you but two eyes
like all eyes, a mouth
lost among a thousand mouths that I have kissed, more beautiful,
a body just like those that have slipped
beneath my body without leaving any memory.

And how empty you went through the world
like a wheat-colored jar
without air, without sound, without substance!
I vainly sought in you
depth for my arms
that dig, without cease, beneath the earth:
beneath your skin, beneath your eyes,
nothing,
beneath your double breast scarcely
raised
a current of crystalline order
that does not know why it flows singing
Why, why, why,
my love, why?

Two happy lovers...

By Pablo Neruda

Two happy lovers make one bread,
a single moon drop in the grass.
Walking, they cast two shadows that flow together;
waking, they leave one sun empty in their bed.
Of all the possible truths, they chose the day;
they held it, not with ropes but with an aroma.
They did not shred the peace; they did not shatter words;
their happiness is a transparent tower.
The air and wine accompany the lovers.
The night delights them with its joyous petals.
They have a right to all the carnations.
Two happy lovers, without an ending, with no death,
they are born, they die, many times while they live:
they have the eternal life of the Natural.
