Republic Day

One of the most important days in any country’s history is its Republic Day: the day when a particular country became republic. Celebrated in countries like India, China, Italy, Pakistan, Turkey, and Brazil, Republic Day is a grand event. In most of these countries, the day is observed as a day of national importance and is celebrated as a holiday. While different countries each have unique celebrations, their national flags are always raised high.

Republic Day celebrations

Republic Day is celebrated with great enthusiasm in most of the countries. In some places, there are week long celebrations, while in others, year long preparations take place for the grand day. Republic Day parades and processions are commonly-followed, traditional shows in several countries. Grand military processions, colorful jet plane shows, acrobats and performances, musical shows, performances by school children, and themed-processions are among the best attractions.
Aristocrats and ministers from other nations will visit each others’ countries, and celebrate with various programs, prayers and promises. The chief guest of the Republic Day program will give out national awards for bravery, and other events. National flags seem to adorn the country like a veil. Teenagers and students celebrate the day enthusiastically, participating in many cultural programs and contests.

Since Republic Day is a holiday in most countries, many prefer spending the day with their loved ones, watching marches, processions and other special shows on television.

In some countries, like India and China, there are annual fairs held at various locations. These fairs attract people of all age groups. People also enjoy visiting historical and national monuments, which are decorated with lights and huge country flags flying at their peaks. It’s a pleasure visiting these monuments, which look their best on this special day.

Children also love to celebrate Republic Day. They flaunt tiny flags, and dress in clothes and accessories featuring national symbols.
