The Ram Navami festival is dedicated as the day of birth of Lord Rama. Occurring on the ninth day (navami) of the month Chaitra, the Ram Navami date falls differently every year. Processions come out, where a chariot is highly adorned and people dressed up as Rama, Laxman, Sita and Hanuman take part in the procession. This kind of a procession is escorted by thousands of Ram devotees.
