German Boxer Dog |
|
|
The history of Boxer Dog could be traced back to Munich, Germany. The modern day boxer descends from mastiff hounds. German Boxer Dog was bred by crossing the English bulldog with German Bullenbeisser. Originally German Boxer Dogs were bred as utility dogs. Toward the end of the 19th century in feudal Germany, these high level energy dogs were used in hunting wild bull, boar, pigs, bison or bear. |
The size, energy and determination of Boxers made them a popular working class dog with the peasants and shop owners. Apart from being utility dogs of repute, boxers made their name in circus too. The Boxer then spread to America and all parts of the globe early last century.
These high energy level dogs are great working dogs. Boxers are used as

But they can also be your most amazing four legged companion. Known for their chiseled head, square jaw and muscular body, boxers are strikingly handsome. Boxers are usually found in two different colors: brindle with a black mask and fawn. White boxers also exist but the reason behind the white coat color is the lack of pigmentation. Standing at 21 - 25 inches at the shoulder, and weighing between 65 to 70 pounds, boxers impress you with their drop dead gorgeous looks.
These are some of the aspects that one needs to know before getting a boxer.
