In United Kingdom, various organizations working for the welfare of dogs are campaigning to make dog shock collars illegal. Till date the ban on dog shock collars have reached a certain level of success. Welsh National Assembly Minister for Environment, Planning and Countryside, Carwyn Jones said in December 2006, that the Animal Welfare Act would be used by the assembly to ban dog shock collars throughout Wales.
