Dogs too go through the same ailments that humans do, such as diabetes, cancer, arthritis, kidney stones and even depression. Given below are some of the health problems that are prevalent in dogs of all breeds and sizes.

Infectious hepatitis: It is a viral disease that dogs acquire by inhaling or swallowing the virus present in the nasal and eye secretions and urine of infected animals. When affected dogs develop liver disease, cold, internal bleeding, tonsillitis, inflammation of the mouth and eye and even brain hemorrhage.

Parvovirus : Parvovirus or Parvo is a viral disease that is seen more common in puppies than in the adult dogs. Canine Parvovirus is a disease that attacks dividing cells of the lining of the digestive system or the intestinal lining. The initial symptoms of Parvo are, high fever, loss of appetite, diarrhea, vomiting, and lethargy. The secondary symptoms include, severe gastrointestinal problems such as vomiting and bloody diarrhea. In the later stages it causes dehydration, shock, and even death. It is see that Parvo may also attack a dog's heart thus causing sudden heart failure. Although Parvo is primarily a disease that affects puppies, dogs of any age are susceptible to this disease. Parvo is spread when an unvaccinated dog comes into contact with infected dogs. However, Parvo can also be carried on through the stools of dogs infected with the virus. Parvo can also be transmitted through the infected dog's hair and feet, as well as contaminated kennels, shoes and other objects that come in contact with your dog.
