Heart Brooch
Supplies needed:
1 cup flour
1/4 cup salt
1 cup warm water
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon oil
Food coloring
Method: Combine flour, water, salt, cream of tartar, oil, and food coloring. Pour the mixture into a pan and stir over medium heat until smooth. Remove the mixture from pan and knead until blended smooth. Set it aside to cool. When chilled, place it in plastic bag or airtight container when cooled. Shape the cold mass into hearts. Then press pins into backs of hearts. When the hearts are totally dry, paint them with your favorite colors.
Painted Flower Pot
Supplies needed:
Unglazed clay (terracotta) flowerpot
Paintbrushes
Acrylic paint
Optional: potting soil and a young plant
Optional: Cellophane, bows and ribbon to wrap and decorate the plant pot and plant
Method: Decorate a clay plant pot with acrylic paint. Butterflies, stone pebbles, glitters or polka dots are simple decorations. If you will be adding a plant to the flowerpot, a painting of that plant is a nice touch.
Hand Print Hand Towel
Supplies needed:
Hand towels
Fabric paint
Disposable plate
Method: Put the fabric paint in a disposable plate and smear the paint around. Take your hand and smear it and press it down into the paint. Take out your painted hands over the hand towel and press hard making sure to press the palm area down and each finger individually. Lift hand straight up and carefully so that you do not smear the paint around.
