Thanksgiving Letter

Thanksgiving is the time to say thanks to your dear ones and associates for the favors they have done for you. Just in case you are unable to express your emotions by speaking to them directly, you can write down your thoughts and share them with your loved ones and associates. Here are a few sample letters you may use when sharing your gratitude to those who have always cared for you.

Thanksgiving Letter To Family :

Sample Thanksgiving Letter to Parents from Daughter

Dear Mom and Dad,

I would like you to know that I appreciate the help and support you have showered on me since I was a child. With your teachings and principles, you have indeed made a difference in my life. I remember how you taught my lessons and spent sleepless nights when I was sick. Your unconditional hugs, your presence at every school event I participated in, and the way you encouraged me to learn things are the special memories that I will always treasure.

Mom and dad, I would like to convey my heartfelt gratitude to you for teaching me what is good and what is not. You made me understand how to grow up with others and feel for them even when they may not belong to my family. You were the first to let me know how to share and care for others, and I continue to share my blessings with the people around me.

I would further say that you have given me the sweetest memories that make me feel homesick, and I understand that I was indeed loved and treasured. I have often misunderstood your intentions when I was younger. But I am aware now that you did everything for my good. I hope that this letter finds you in the best of your health and I once again thank you for giving me those precious memories of my life, which I shall cherish forever.

With love and respect,

[Daughter's name]

Dear [Daughter's name],
Firstly, let me wish you on this festive occasion and tell you that I do appreciate whatever you have done for me. I hope you are getting prepared for Thanksgiving celebrations. Let me help you with a few recipes for the feast you are planning for the big day.

Deep-fried Turkey

Deep frying can help you relish the turkey as it will turn crispy and super-juicy. To prepare this tasty dish, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 3 gallons peanut oil (for frying)
  • A turkey (around 12 pound) with its neck and giblets removed
  • 1 white onion
  • 1/4 cup Creole seasoning

  • Heat oil up to 400F in a turkey fryer. Make sure the oil does not spill over.
  • Use food-safe paper bags to layer a platter.
  • Rinse the turkey and use paper towels to dry it.
  • Apply Creole seasoning over the turkey (both the outer and inner parts).
  • Make sure the hole at the cavity of the bird is open about 2 inches. This will help oil flow freely through the turkey.
  • Keep the turkey and whole onion in a drain basket.
  • Dip the basket into the oil so that it covers the turkey.
  • Let the temperature of oil remain at 350F while you cook the turkey for about an hour.
  • Keep the basket away from the oil and drain the turkey.
  • Place a meat thermometer into the turkey, especially its thickest part, and let the temperature remain at 180F.
  • Drain the turkey on the platter.

    Ginger-Streusel Pumpkin Pie:

    • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

For the Streusel, you will need the ingredients given below:
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 cup cold butter (cubed)

    • 1/3 cup finely chopped crystallized ginger
    • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

    • Unroll pastry on a surface smeared with some amount of flour.
    • Keep the pastry on a pie plate.
    • Trim the pastry to a few inches across the sides of the pie plate.
    • Place eggs, pumpkin, nutmeg and cloves in a large bowl.
    • Add sugars, cream, allspice, salt, and cinnamon to the saucepan.
    • Whisk the ingredients added to the saucepan.
    • Pour the mixture into pastry shell.
    • Bake at 350F for more than half an hour.
    • Mix flour and brown sugar.
    • Sprinkle walnuts and ginger.
    • Bake for another 30 minutes until a knife placed at the middle part just comes out clean.
