Portland, Oregon Flowers
Portland, Oregon is truly a ‘city of roses’. This is a fact reinforced by the Portland International Rose Test garden which is home to over 8000 varieties of Roses received from all over the world since World War I. When the World War I started off, growers from all over the world were worried that bombing would destroy their unique European rose plants. Thus, foreign growers sent samples of their prized plants to Portland, Oregon where three prominent nurserymen had decided to start a rose garden. Portland was a safe haven compared to the European gardens most of which had already been destroyed. Two delightful areas of the Rose Test Garden are open for Public nuptials, The Shakespeare Garden, which features Roses mentioned in Shakespeare’s work and the Gold Medal garden, a formal garden with award winning roses.
Portland, Oregon is home to a lot of other parks and gardens where recreation activities are regularly organized, more information about that can be found at portlandparks.org
Portland is also home to a major portion of the American Floral industry. There are many Florists in this city who are devoted to the task of delivering flowers all over Portland. However, there are many ‘faux’ florists too who provide below average flowers for a very high cost primarily because of the middlemen involved. So be careful when choosing a Florist. Go with a well-established Local florist.
