Even the simplest of flower arrangements can enhance the elegance of your home. It’s such a wonderful way to welcome your guests and make them feel special. However, there are a couple of things you should keep in mind when you set out to arrange those flowers.
Unless you are a professional, keep your flower arrangements small and simple. It’s a western tendency to prefer larger, more elaborate flower arrangements. However, there’s a lot to learn from eastern culture. Ikebana or the Japanese flower arrangement attempts to include everything from the stems to the leaves to the vase in the arrangement process and pays particular attention to symmetry. Once you have arranged your flowers to your liking, you must learn to care for them as well in order to prolong their vase life. Some flowers survive longer than others; nevertheless there are a couple of things you could follow. Ensure that there are no leaves below the waterline in the container so as to avoid bacterial growth, prune the stems every couple of days to avoid dehydration of the flowers and change the water in the container every day. You could also purchase floral feed from your local florist and toss that into the container every once in a while.
