English Toffee Recipe English Toffee is one of the most popular Christmas Candies. It is generally made out of unsalted butter and sugar and is rather chewy in nature. It is often covered in almonds and is an age-old symbol of a traditional English Christmas candy. This simple recipe will only take you about 15 minutes to prepare.
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter
1 ¼ cups white sugar
2 tablespoons water
¼ cup slivered almonds
1 cup chocolate chips
Directions
Butter a jellyroll pan.
In a heavy skillet, over medium heat, melt butter.
Stir in sugar and water. Bring to a boil and add almonds.
Cook, stirring constantly until nuts are toasted and the sugar is golden.
Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and sprinkle the chocolate chips on top.
Let stand for a minute then spread the chocolate over the top. Let cool completely then break into pieces.
White Chocolate Fudge
This traditional Christmas candy recipe is a rare delight. The white chocolate fudge is oh-so sinful and melt in the mouth and very easy to prepare.
Ingredients
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
4 cups confectioners' sugar
1 ½ tsps vanilla extract
12 ounces white chocolate, chopped
¾ cup chopped pecans
Directions
Grease an 8x8 inch-baking dish. Set aside.
In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
In the top of a double boiler over lightly simmering water, heat white chocolate, stirring until melted and smooth.
Fold melted white chocolate and pecans into cream cheese mixture. Spread into prepared baking dish. Chill for 1 hour, then cut into 1-inch squares.
