Most US states abound with a wide variety of state flowers that determine the characteristics of that particular state. Alabama is proud to present its two important state flowers, camellia and oak-leaf hydrangea. The former is a state flower while the latter is a state wild flower. Camellia is an important flowering plant, available in about three different types:- Double flowered Camellia

The oak-leaf hydrangea is also an important wild flower of Alabama. This flower changes its color from creamy white, pink to rusty brown.
Another US state having one of the brightest state flowers is California, with the state flower California poppy. This flower too changes its color like oak-leaf hydrangea, from early March to May. It is a heavenly pleasure to see a valley covered with fully bloomed California poppy. Bright orange color of these flowers make the field look like a colorful carpet.
Mountain laurel is the state flower of Connecticut and indeed has such an encapsulating beauty. A Connecticut mountain laurel can easily give competition to all flowers of the world with their ceaseless beauty. The color combination of the petals, white matched with baby pink, is a matter of awe for every spectator.
The Hawaii islands too, have their own state flower, a Hawaiian hibiscus. Petals of these flowers are bright yellow in color and create a great contrast among their green leaves. Indiana too, has its own state flower formed by the ever beautiful peonies. These peonies can be cultivated or can even grow naturally. Some kinds of hybrid peonies bloom in a bunch and cover the leaves of the plant. There are four kinds of peonies seen mostly, they are:- Paeonia ludlowii
