¼ teaspoon of salt
¼ cup of chopped nuts

Instructions:
Firstly mix brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and flour along with apples. Next place a 9" pastry lined pie plate and flute the edges of the crust of the pastry. Now spray nuts and rum over the apples and also dot it with butter. Now roll the remaining bit of pastry and cut it into ¾" strips. You can arrange these strips into a lattice model. Bake the dish at about 425 degree Celsius for duration of 50-60 minutes. Take the help of foil paper for covering the top part of the pie while it is baking in order to prevent the over browning of the crust. Once the dish is prepared, serve it with rum sauce.
Rum Sauce:
For preparing the rum sauce, mix the sugar, water and cinnamon together in a saucepan. Boil and cook the mixture for about 5 minutes on the medium high flame. Take care to stir continuously. Slowly, mix the cornstarch and cold water together. Blend the mixture into the hot sugar mixture. Cook it until the mixture becomes thick. Next mix the rum to the thickened mixture and cool it slightly. Your Rum Sauce is ready to be served with warm pie.
