It was generally believed by the Romans that all life germinated or proceeded from an egg. Hence, the egg became the symbol of birth, rebirth, fertility, and new life. Even Christians started to regard eggs as the seeds of life and attributed them with the symbol of Jesus’ resurrection and ultimately this became related to the eggs of Easter Bunny. Moreover, the rabbita and hares are considered to breed very quickly. These animals are said to give birth to multiple offsprings at a time. Hence, there is even a saying ‘to breed like bunnies’.
According to a myth, it is believed that Ostara changed her pet bird to a bunny in order to entertain little children and in return, this little bunny laid colorful eggs for them. Thus, this is the Origin of Easter Bunny and his eggs.
