Easter Around The World

Easter is a festival honoring the beauty of spring season. In many Christian dominated countries, Easter is celebrated as a religious holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the son of God. Easter celebrations around the world are marked by a difference as in Sweden, Easter is not as grand as Christmas, but schools are closed about one week before the arrival Easter. The natives of Sweden decorate their houses with Easter colors; yellow, green and white.
While in parts of Germany the actual D-day begins at the end of March or at the beginning of April. Eggs are an important part of German Easter customs; it is commonly believed that the practice of exchanging eggs in Germany might have started even before the Germans started to pay taxes to their landlord.
Easter traditions throughout the world are followed through a series of rituals and customs which may differ from country to country owing to their ethnic and cultural origin. From the fasting during Lent, to sumptuous family dinner party on Easter Sunday, there's a wealth of great Easter culinary delights which make the occasion far more auspicious.
