Earth Day is the occasion to eat healthy dishes, which are easy on the environment. Some people prefer, to call the food prepared from the Earth Day recipes, environment friendly dishes. Earth Day recipes generally include vegetables and fruits that contain very less pesticide. Many local farmers grow organic food, so buying things from them can be a good choice. You must make it a habit to eat health food all the time, and not just on Earth Day.
Some of the vegetables and fruits, which are less likely to contain less of the harmful pesticides, are: pineapples, cabbage, frozen sweet corn, bananas, kiwi, avocados, asparagus, broccoli, mangoes, papayas, blueberries, frozen peas, mushrooms and onions.

| Of course, all the organic vegetables and fruits are healthy. If you are getting the fruits and vegetables, from your garden they will definitely be fresh. Cooking food from a healthy recipe is not at all a tough task; you just have to follow the recipe carefully. There are various types of eco-friendly recipes, which you can come across. Mushroom Kebabs
1 clove garlic
1/4 cup olive oil
1 green bell pepper
2 red bell peppers
2 teaspoons fresh thyme
1 teaspoon fresh rosemary
3/4 cup fresh mushrooms
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Keep the oven preheated at medium heat; alternately string the mushrooms and peppers on a metal skewer. Mix the rest of the ingredients in a bowl and brush that onto skewered vegetables. Put the skewers on the oiled grill and grill 4 to 6 minutes, turning occasionally, till they are done.

Strawberry Spinach Salad
1/4 cup almonds
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
1/4 cup distilled white vinegar
1 tablespoon minced onion
1 quart strawberries (sliced)
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
10 ounces fresh spinach (chopped)
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
In a medium bowl, mix the poppy seeds, Worcestershire sauce olive oil, vinegar, sesame seeds, sugar, paprika, and onion; let it chill for 1 hour. In another bowl, mix the strawberry, spinach and almond. Pour the chilled dressing over it, before serving.
Earth Day Dirt Cups
2 cups of cold milk
1 pk instant chocolate pudding
3-1/2 cups frozen whipped topping
16-ounce package chocolate sandwich cookies
Gummy worms
Whip together the milk with pudding, put the mixture aside for a few minutes and then gently fold in whipped topping, and half of the crushed cookies. Put the rest of the cookie crumbs, in the bottom of the cupcake liner in a deep serving bowl. Fill the cupcake liners with the pudding mixture and use the gummy worms to decorate. Chill it before serving.
Fruit and Nut Coleslaw
1 banana
1/4 cup raisins
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sliced celery
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
8 ounce sliced pineapple
2 tablespoons lemon juice
3 cups shredded cabbage
11 ounce mandarin oranges
8 ounce orange flavored yogurt
Drain the pineapple from the can and keep aside 2 tablespoons juice. Cut the pineapples into thin strips, mix it with the banana and transfer it to a large bowl. In another mid sized bowl, mix the pineapple juice, which has been set aside and the lemon juice. Add celery, cabbage, walnuts, oranges and raisins to the banana and pineapple mixture. Combine the salt and yoghurt and put it to the cabbage mixture; cover it and let it refrigerate, till it is chilled and then serve.
