Sukkot – Jewish Thanksgiving

Sukkot is a Jewish harvest festival. Celebrated four days after Yom Kippur, Sukkot begins at dawn of the 14th day of Tishri. This period usually takes place in late September or early October. Also known as Harvest Festival, Sukkot lasts for seven days. The celebration marks a shift from the somber Days of Atonement to the joyous moments of Sukkot. The jolly festival is commemorated as homage to the forty years during which Jews wondered in the desert.
